Motor Performance

The Bosch Performance Line CX motor delivers 85Nm of torque, providing exceptional power for steep, technical climbs. The four assist levels (Eco, Tour, eMTB, Turbo) allow fine-tuning of power delivery. The eMTB mode automatically adjusts assistance based on pedal input, providing intuitive power delivery on technical terrain. The Bosch system is known for reliability and excellent dealer support. For aggressive enduro riding, the motor provides more than enough power to handle steep, loose climbs.

Battery and Range

The 625Wh Bosch PowerTube battery is the largest available from Bosch, providing 25-40 miles of range depending on terrain and assist level. On aggressive enduro rides with steep climbing, expect closer to 25 miles. On less demanding terrain or with conservative Eco mode usage, 35-40 miles is achievable. The battery charges in 3.5 hours from empty. For most enduro rides, this range is sufficient, though epic all-day rides may require range management.

Suspension Performance

The 160mm Fox Factory suspension is the gold standard for enduro riding. The Fox 38 Factory fork with GRIP2 damper offers exceptional damping and adjustability, with high and low-speed compression/rebound adjustment. The Float X2 shock provides plush, supportive rear suspension. The suspension handles the most aggressive enduro terrain with confidence, absorbing square-edge hits and maintaining traction on rough descents. The 170mm fork travel (10mm more than rear) provides a balanced geometry for aggressive riding.

Handling and Geometry

The Rail 9.9 features modern enduro geometry optimized for aggressive descending. The 64° head angle provides confidence on steep, technical descents, while the 77° seat angle positions the rider well for climbing. The 455mm chainstays keep the bike feeling nimble despite the long travel. The bike handles exceptionally well at high speeds on rough terrain, feeling stable and composed. It's not as efficient for cross-country riding, but for enduro-style riding, it's exceptional.

Component Spec

The build kit is premium throughout. SRAM XO1 Eagle drivetrain provides crisp, reliable shifting under load, while SRAM Code RSC brakes with 220mm front rotor deliver exceptional stopping power for the bike's weight and intended use. The Bontrager Line Pro 30 carbon wheels are lightweight yet strong, wrapped in Bontrager SE5/SE6 tires that provide excellent grip in varied conditions. The component spec matches the frame's premium positioning.
